Christine Elizabeth "Bette" Bell of Marlboro, NY passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie. Bette was born in Newburgh, NY on February 14, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Elizabeth Smith Hall. She was 92. Bette married Wilfred Charles "Bill" Bell on December 7, 1942.Bette was a career woman, homemaker, wife and mother. She was the radio voice known as Bette from Bard Chevrolet, Newburgh; she was the Executive Secretary for Marvin Rotenberg of Norstar Bank of Newburgh. She along with her husband, Bill owned and operated Bette & Bill's Gift Shop in Marlboro and before fully retiring, she and Bill were the owners of Bill Bell Property & Real Estate, Marlboro. Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Bill; her sons: Steven Bell and his wife, Susan, Peter Bell and his wife, Georgette, Douglas Bell and Fiance, Merilee; her daughters: Sharon Reynolds and her husband, James and Carol Glider; eight grandchildren: Christine and Edward Mackey, James and Jennifer Reynolds, Christopher and Angela Bell, Kevin and Sarah Bell, Amanda and Steven Vigneault, Kelsey Bell, Kayley Bell and Braeden Bell; eight great grandchildren: Nicholas and Sarah Mackey, Brian and Jake Reynolds, Kyle Bell, Jack and Carly Bell and Conner Vigneault; and several nieces and nephews. Bette was predeceased by her brother, Burke Hall. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14th at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning at the DiDonato Funeral Home with Pastor Jody Spiak officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Carl J. Bill and Bette were
married 72 years and Bill died 72 days after Bette... Wilfred C. “Bill” Bell of
Marlboro passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Wingate of Ulster in
Highland. He was 94. Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 4, 1921.He is
the son of the late William A. and Edna (Purdy) Bell. Bill married Christine
Elizabeth "Bette" Hall Bell who predeceased him on July 12, 2015 after 72 years
of marriage. Bill grew up in Newburgh and attended local schools. He was known
locally as a gymnast, swimmer and diver for Newburgh Free Academy which he
graduated from in 1939. He attended New York University but his education was
interrupted October 26, 1942 when he entered the United States Army. Bill became
a Sergeant for the Army and returned February 6, 1946. He worked for Bard
Chevrolet in Newburgh, NY for 32 years as the General Manager. Bill, along with
Bette, owned and operated Bette & Bill’s Gift Shop in Marlboro, NY and before
fully retiring he was a local Real Estate Property Appraiser.Bill is survived by
his sons, Steven Bell and his wife Susan, Peter Bell and his wife Georgette and
Douglas Bell and his fiancé Merilee, his daughters, Sharon Reynolds and husband
James and Carol Glider, his brother Ralph Bell and his wife Jeanne and sister in
law Christine Bell, 9 grandchildren, Christine Mackey and husband Edward, James
Reynolds and wife Jennifer, Christopher Bell and wife Angela, Kevin Bell and
wife Sarah, Amanda Vigneault and husband Steven, Kelsey Bell, Kayley Bell,
Braeden Bell & Hailey Hult, 8 Great Grandchildren, Nicholas & Sarah Mackey, Kyle
Bell, Jack & Carly Bell, Conner Vigneault, Brian & Jacob Reynolds, several
nieces & nephews.Bill is predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth Bell and Edwin
Bell, his sister Marion Foster, his brother in law William Foster & sister in
law Mary BellCalling hours will be held on Saturday, September 26th from 11:00am
- 2:00pm at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro.Funeral Services
will follow visitation on Saturday at 2:00pm at the funeral home with Pastor
Jody Spiak officiating.Cremation will be at the convenience of the
