Byron G. Hulse Sr. - Class of 1960

    Byron G. Hulse Sr., of Newburgh, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at home. He was 73. Son of the late George and Helen (Jennings) Hulse, he was born February 27, 1942 in Newburgh. He married Mary (Thompson) Hulse on May 31, 1970 in St. Francis Church in Newburgh. Mary survives at home. Byron proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines, serving two tours in Vietnam. While serving he earned several medals and commendations including the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Rifle Marksman Badge and Pistol Marksman Badge, among others. Byron recently retired, and prided himself spending time with his loving children, grandchildren and soul mate, Mary. He loved his family immensely, and will be dearly missed. In addition to his devoted wife, Mary; he is survived by his son, Byron G. Hulse Jr. and his wife, Regina; his daughter, Sandra Muller and her husband, Michael; three brothers: Robert, William and Warren Hulse; and six grandchildren: Mikey Muller Jr., Kayla Hulse, Amanda Muller, Alyssa Muller, Jessica Muller and Vanessa Muller. He was predeceased by two brothers: George Hulse III and Noel Hulse and a sister, Florence Madonia. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 25th with military honors at 7:45 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh.
