    Kresten M. "Kres" Bjornsson, 60, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at his residence. Born in Newburgh on August 12, 1955, he was son of the late Thordur and Alice Cherniak Bjornsson. Kres was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University, and enjoyed a long career in the banking industry. He lived in New York City and worked at the Bank of Montreal for many years. He moved to Freehold in the early 2000s and was employed for the last 13 years as vice president of Municipal Banking and Commercial Services at the Bank of Greene County in Catskill. Kres is survived by his sister, Haldora Bjornsson; nieces and nephews, Allison Provenzano-Mackie and husband John, Eric Menendez and wife Heather, Kristine Biancone, and Lt. William Repko III; five grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to his parents, Kres was predeceased by his sister, Kristine Provenzano. Kres has been cremated privately. A calling hour will be held Tuesday, from 1 to 2 p.m. at A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 State Route 81, Greenville, followed by burial of his ashes in Greenville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 will be appreciated.
