Amoia, 72, a 36 year resident of Wappingers Falls, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. Mr. Amoia worked for the Wappingers Central School District in the Transportation Department at Wappingers Junior High School. He also worked as a court officer for the Village of Wappingers Falls, holding the rank of Lieutenant, and retired from IBM in East Fishkill. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. Born in Newburgh on November 21, 1933, he was the son of Patsy and Jennie Calvino Amoia. He attended Newburgh schools. His firs wife, Mary J. Centorani Lucato Amoia predeceased him on April 27, 2002. His second wife, Carol Graff Amoia survives at home. In addition to his wife at home he is survived by his sons, John Amoia of Wappingers Falls and Anthony Amoia of Unionvale, NY; stepson, Frank Lucato and wife, Francine, of Wappingers Falls; stepdaughters, Nancy Burke and husband, Jim, of New Bern, NC and Della Kimbark and husband, Russell, of LaGrange; stepson, Louis Lucato and wife, Vi, of Wappingers Falls; stepdaughters, Camille Lithgow and husband, Timothy, of Wappingers Falls and Christina Schneider and husband, Joseph, of Poughkeepsie; step grandsons, Joseph, Andrew, and Vincent; step grandchildren, Frank Lucato, Jr., Jennifer Lucato, Ann Kin Artuz, David Kimbark, Louis Lucato, Jr, Gary Lucato, and Kristine Foss. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Delehanty Funeral Home, 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 1:00 p.m., at St. Mary's Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls. Entombment will be in the Community Mausoleum at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
