Mary D'Agostino Monetti - Class of 1941

  Mary D'Agostino Monetti, of Newburgh, NY a lifetime resident of the area, entered into rest on September 27, 2015. She was 93. Mary was born in Newburgh on September 20, 1922 to noted music professor Giacomo D'agostino and Rose D'agostino. Mary followed in her father's footsteps and had a life long passion for music. She was the church soloist at Sacred Heart church for over forty years, where she was well known and well loved. In addition to her interests in music, Mary was a long standing member of the Sacred Heart League and Catholic Daughters, as well as a long standing member of the musicians union as a vocalist. She is survived by her two children, Salvatore Monetti and Martha Monetti. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. Donations on her behalf can be made to the Catholic Daughters of America, Sacred Heart League, or The Red Cross. Arrangements under the care of Brooks Funeral Home.
