John A. McKee "Jack" - Class of 1947 . He lived in New Windsor. Jack was a retired Police Officer in the City of Newburgh Police Dept..... He started in the City of Newburgh Pd in 1953 and retired 1973. He passed away at the age of 88. His funeral is set for Wednesday the 18th of November 2015. At Veteran’s Cemetery in Goshen NY. More information to follow Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 1952 Grammypgh@aol.com - John A. “Jack” McKee, of New Windsor, a life time area resident, entered into rest on November 7, 2015 at home. He was 88. The son of the late Andrew and Helene Tuthill Stanley McKee, Jack was born August 25, 1927 in Newburgh. He married Eunice E. Hopkins on December 25, 1956 in Milford, PA. Eunice predeceased him in 2011. Jack graduated from Newburgh Free Academy, class of 1947, following his discharge from the U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Barnett, and was honorably discharged as a 3rd class petty officer. Jack was also retired from the City of Newburgh Police Department, the U.S. Post Office in West Point, and Avis Car Rental at Stewart Airport. Jack was a member of the VFW post 2064 in Maybrook, NY and a past commander of the VFW post 4732 of New Windsor, NY. He was also a member of the retired Police Association of New York State and the New York State Order of Police. Jack enjoyed life, especially going to casinos and tricky trays. Jack and Eunice traveled extensively over the years and enjoyed meeting new people along the way. Both Jack and Eunice were predeceased by their faithful, loving furry companion “Beau-Shep Vom McKee Haus” (aka Shep) who was with them for 10 years and enjoyed traveling with them. Jack is survived by his daughter Eunice E. “Chici” Crudele of Marlboro, NY; his son Lonnie T. Turner and his wife Valerie of The Villages, FL; grandchildren: Lonza J. Crudele of Cornwall, Nicole Taylor, April Smith and husband John, and Candice Turner, all of FL; great grandchildren: Sierra Turner, Skyler Turner, Autumn Taylor, Kylie, Mackenzie and Gabriel Smith, all residing in FL; several nieces and nephews, and former daughter-in-law Regina Turner. In addition to his wife Eunice, he was predeceased by two brothers, Donald McKee and William McKee, and son-in-law Alfred D. Crudele. A Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, November 18, at 11am at Goshen VA Cemetery, Goshen.
