Ezio A. (Ace) Galati Class of 1934
Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 1952 <Grammypgh@aol.com> on 19/Aug/2009 Message: Ezio A. (Ace) Galati of Newburgh, entered into rest on Monday, August 17, 2009 at Arden Hill Hospital Goshen. He was 93. Son of the late August and Nunziata Damiani Galati, he was born on August 8, 1916 in Newburgh NY. Ace was predeceased by his wife of many years, Margaret A. (Peggy) Conway Galati, who died May 31, 1990. Ace proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning the American Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He also attended Lafayette College. Ace was a life-long photographer in the Newburgh area. He is survived by three sons; Stephen A. Galati of Newburgh, Gary A. Galati and his wife Diane of Newburgh and Mark A. Galati and his wife Marjorie of Aurora, IL; grandchildren: Brian Galati and his wife, Carrie of Amsterdam, NY, Keith Galati of Brooklyn, NY, Julianne Galati and Michael Galati of Aurora IL; sister-in-law Jean Galati; and many nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his brothers: Fulvio, Ugo and William Galati, and sister Lee Dwyer. Cremation will take place at Cedar Crematory, Newburgh. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday August 21 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh. Burial of cremains will be in Calvary Cemetery New Windsor. |
