Joseph Monti, of New Windsor, a retiree of the US Post Office in Newburgh and life time area resident, entered into rest on November 18, 2015. He was 94. The son of the late Joseph and Lucia (Costagliola) Monti, Joseph was born on April 30, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY. Joseph graduated high school in 1938. He worked for many years on the family farm, and enjoyed growing tomatoes, pumpkins and raspberries to share with his family and friends. Joseph was quiet, but had a quick wit and often shared humorous comments. Joseph is survived by his beloved sister and caregiver Carmela Monti, and several nieces and nephews, along with their children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Louise Monti, Frank Monti, Anthony (Vera) Monti, Mary (Salvatore) DeCerbo, Ann (Joseph) Nameth and Vincent (Anne) Monti. Visitation will be from 11 am to 12:30 pm, followed by a funeral service on Friday, November 20 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.
