Bonnie Davis Melvin - Class of 1968

Bonnie Lydia Davis Melvin, 67, of Naples, Florida passed away surrounded by her
family on November 24, 2015. She was born in Newburgh, NY on May 2, 1948 to
Eleanor (Kane) and Borden Davis. She is survived by her two children, Ian and
Caitlin Melvin, and four siblings, Rosemarie Dunning, Elizabeth "Betsy" Rogers,
Borden Davis and Richard Davis. She is predeceased by two brothers, Raymond Kane
and Fred Dunning. Bonnie's life was spent selflessly helping others. She spent
much of her life working long hours at multiple jobs in order to provide for her
two children. She was an exceptionally compassionate and strong woman who loved
her family and friends. Her kindness, sense of humor, comforting hugs and
motherly love will be dearly missed. A service
will be held on June 4, 2016 at Woodlawn Cemetery in New Windsor at 10 a.m followed by a
celebration at Orange Lake Firehouse in the Town of Newburgh 12 to 4 p.m. In
lieu of flowers, her family asks to honor one of Bonnie's lifelong wishes and
please make donations in her memory to the Historical Society of Newburgh at 189
Montgomery Street, NY, 12550. May 2, 1948 - November 24, 2015
