  Mark S. Tighe of the Town of Newburgh, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, in the Bronx Veterans Administration Hospital. He was 89. The son of the late Michael and Jennie Shannon Tighe, he was born April 3, 1911, in Newburgh. Mr. Tighe retired from the Dupont Company, were he served as paymaster. After retiring from Dupont, he operated the Tighe Family Christmas Tree Farm on Old Little Britain Road. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church; and the American Legion Post #1420. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Innis Tighe, at home; one son, Michael Tighe and his wife, Genevieve of Newark, Del.; one daughter, Mary Tighe-Matey and her husband, Jay of Newburgh; one sister, Gertrude O'Brien of Texas; his grandchildren, Paul Gemma of Newburgh, Maureen Laltoo of Berkeley, Calif., Mark Matey of Newburgh and Brendan Tighe of Newark, Del.; and one great-grandson, Khalil Laltoo of Berkeley, Calif. He was predeceased by one daughter, Jeanne Tighe-Gemma, who died in 1985. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at the White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Road, Route 32, Town of Newburgh. The American Legion Post #1420 will conduct services at 3 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Monsignor John Budwick will officiate. Burial in Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden, will take place at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of White & Venuto Funeral Home, Town of Newburgh.
