Submitted by Pauline Rute Hall 1952 <Grammypgh@aol.com> on 19/Dec/2015 Myrna I. Smith Tomer, a resident of the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest on December 18, 2015. She was 78. The daughter of the late Walter Smith and Vivian (Gritmon), Myrna was born on August 3, 1937 in Newburgh. Myrna was a 1955 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, she also was a member of the Winona Lake VFD Ladies Auxiliary as well as a member of multiple knitting clubs in the Town of Newburgh. Myrna is survived by her children: Kenneth A. Tomer Jr. and fiancee`, Pam of Newburgh, and Patricia A. Cimijotti of Pine Bush; her sister: Sharon N. Formato and husband, James, of New Windsor, her sister-in-law Peggy Bush Ward and husband, Clyde; grandchild: Nicole Mamazza and fiancé, Keith, of Pine Bush; great grand-children: Alexis and Cody Vanoyan of Pine Bush; nieces and nephews: Michelle Delgado and husband, Saul, Danielle DeSarro and husband, Bruce, James A. Formato, Jonelle Santo and husband, Joe, Debby Hollyfield and husband, Barry, Donna Middleton, Edward Middleton and wife, Gina as well as several grand nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special love, Tori, her collie. Myrna was predeceased by her husband Kenneth in 2006, and step-father, Ralph B. Nichols. Memorial visitation will be from 2 to 5pm on Sunday, December 27 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A prayer service will be conducted by Fr. Bill Damroth at 4:30 PM at the Funeral Home. An Inurnment will take place at 11 AM on Monday December 28, at the Orange County VA Cemetery in Goshen.
