Annette Shondell Marie Boykin Melvin "Peanut," was called home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness on Sept. 29, 2015. God knew we loved her, but God loved her "Best." According to God's plan it was time for our beloved Peanut to go home, to be with the Lord for all eternity.Annette "Peanut," was born in Newburgh, N.Y. to her mother, Mother Missionary Dr. Joan Marie Boykin Little and father, Trustee Brother Charlie Earl Little Sr. on Aug. 10, 1970. She was 45 years of age. Annette "Peanut" was a shining light among her family and friends. She was a comedian, a vivacious person and always the center of attention. Any home that Annette entered, she made a lively grand entrance. She was bubbly in spirit and full of life, and brought laughter to all whom were present, and we loved her so. Annette enjoyed spending time with the family, shopping and was our "fashion diva." Annette always took time to worship and praise the Lord. She embraced and loved so many people throughout her life, and thus was loved by so many. She attended Newburgh Enlarge City School District. She was a graduate of the Newburgh Free Academy. Annette's career took her away from her love ones in Newburgh, N.Y. With her pursuing her career with Verizon, it took her to many destinations, moving her to Wilmington, Atlanta, Baltimore, and her promotion to "Coordinator Financial Planning and Analyst" brought her back to Atlanta. To further elaborate on her education, she attended Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, N.J. in 2006 where she continued her education in business with Verizon. Annette leaves to cherish the wonderful memories, her mother, Mother Missionary Dr. Joan Marie Boykin Little; and father, Trustee Brother Charlie Earl Little Sr. of the Town of Newburgh, N.Y.; two sons, DeAndric M. Little of Newburgh, N.Y. and Devante Bernard of Alpharetta, Ga.; one daughter, DeJanee Boykin of Newburgh, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Janayzia Boykin and Brook'lyn Bernard; three brothers, Tommy L. Boykin of Alpharetta, Ga., Charlie Earl Little Jr. (Fiance' Tamara) of Middletown, N.Y. and Andre Terrell Little of Newburgh, N.Y. She also leaves to cherish her memories two God sisters, Faika Wilson and Tiara Boykin both of Newburgh, N.Y.; God brother, Jeffrey Underwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Annette also leaves behind her baby Yorkie, Bellia. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Cecil Boykin Sr. and Annie Mae Newkirk Boykin; paternal grandparents, James Wesley Little Sr. and paternal grandmother, Mother Hanna Granderson Little. Some people only dream of angels, we held one in our arms, our daughter, our mother, our sister, our cousin, our aunt, our niece and our friend, Annette Shondell Marie Boykin Melvin "Peanut" will never be forgotten. We love her and she will always be in our hearts forever. Ms. Melvin will lay in repose from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015 at Mt. Carmel COCDOC, 1524 Rte. 300, Newburgh, N.Y. Elder Dr. Thermond Herring officiating. Service is set for 7 p.m. at the church. Final visitation from noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10 at Greater Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, 515 South East Blvd., Clinton, with Ruby Boykin, pastor. Interment at Sandhill Cemetery, Clinton. Professional service entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Homes, 259 Walsh Ave., New Windsor, N.Y. 12553.
