Pastor Doris Ann Williams Stewart  was born on December 18, 1952 and entered into eternal rest on January 14, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Shirley Mc Doe and the late John Kirby Williams. Her mother later married the late Minister William Tate, who Doris affectionately called “Dad”. After several years of marriage, her mother passed and “Dad” married the late Bishop Catherine Tate; who she affectionately called “Ma”. Doris married Roy A. Stewart in June of 1991 and was the proud mother of three natural children; Dorothelea Edwards, LaShonn Williams, Shirlynn Stewart; and one adopted daughter Tonya Barden. She had a passion for helping those in need; being a mother figure, providing shelter and care giving to many. Pastor Doris A. Stewart was educated in the Newburgh School District, attended Newburgh Bible Institute; Christ Theological Seminary; and His Excellence Theological Seminary. Through her studies, she achieved a Bachelor and Masters of Science in Biblical Studies. She was called by God to preach in 1994 and answered the call to pastoring in 2009, establishing Redeemed Pentecostal Holiness Church. Doris was preceded in death by her son, LaShonn Williams; sisters, Janice Spriggs, Barbara Ann Williams Burch, Joann Malbranche; brothers, John Williams Jr, and David Wooten. She leaves to cherish her memory; husband Roy A. Stewart; children, Dorothelea Edwards, Shirlynn Stewart; adopted daughter Tonya Barden; brothers, Milton Wooten, Richard L. Williams, Johnnie C. Williams, Willie C. Williams; sisters, Martha Butler, Lula Brown, Evelyn Smith, Barbara Jean Williams, Eva Mae Robinson, Eartha Melvin; three grandchildren, Tatiana Thompson, Jeremiah Boykin, David Pointer; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The family would like to especially thank Redeemed Pentecostal Holiness Church, Bishop & Reverend Dorsey, Bishop & Lady Hodge and The New Day Tabernacle Church Family, Elder McDoe, Doretha Salabie, Martha Kirby and a host of others for your continual prayers and acts of kindness. Visitation will be from 10 am - 11 am on Saturday, January 23 at New Day Tabernacle Church, Plattekill, with a service following at the church.
