Anthony A. Dubaldi, age 89, a lifelong resident of the Newburgh area, passed away on Wednesday, March 2,2016 from complications from diabetes. Tony is survived by his daughter, Claudia Dubaldi, of Harrisburg, PA, a sister-in-law, Louise “Venuti” Dubaldi, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tony was born on December 6,1926 to Giuseppe and Giuseppina Dubaldi. He is preceded in death by 7 siblings: Peter, Mary (Rosselli), Philip, Hugo, Giglo, “Chig”, Carmen and John. Tony enlisted in the Navy when he was just 17 years of age, resulting in his family being recognized as having the largest number of family members serving in the military at one time. Six sons served across three branches (Navy, Army, Air Force). Articles were written about them in the local newspaper, and his parents received a special letter from the Secretary of Defense. For the greater part of his life, Tony worked in construction, but he was later employed by the Newburgh Enlarged School District. He was also a member of Laborer’s Union Local #17, and the William Street Social Club, and often went to OTB. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and for most of his senior years, he was seen driving his eggplant-colored pick-up truck in Newburgh with a bed full of freshly-picked, homegrown vegetables. A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 12,2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Doulin Newburgh Funeral Home Inc. Cremation will take place on Monday, March 14,2016 at Cedar Hill Crematory, followed by the burial of cremains in Cedar Hill Cemetery. His daughter wishes to thank a number of family and friends for their support: Fred and Vivian Fetter, Mark Conklin, the Terwilliger family, and the nurses, doctors, support staff, his friends and “family” at the New Windsor Country Inn who provided aid. In lieu of flowers, please make a monetary donation in Tony’s memory to your local Animal Shelter.
