Son of the late Cosmo J. and Eleanor F. (Vandermark) Mitchetti, he was born May 6, 1947 in Newburgh. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Mitchetti. Gary was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, friend and neighbor. Gary was a great man, truly one of a kind. All who knew him understood his great sense of humor and truly loved him. Gary enjoyed many things: fishing, golfing, cruises, Thirsty Thursdays, and poker games. But most of he enjoyed his family and friends. We truly had the best! He is survived by his children, Franklin M. Mitchetti Sr. and Deborah J. Mitchetti; siblings, Marty Mitchetti Sr., Jerry Mitchetti, Richard Mitchetti Sr., and Cosmo Mitchetti Jr.; grandchildren, Franklin M. Mitchetti Jr., Alyssa J. Kane, Alexandria J. Kane, Gianna M. Mitchetti; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by his son, Gary L. Mitchetti Jr., his brother, Keith Mitchetti, and nephew, Marty Mitchetti Jr. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Thursday, March 10 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.
