    John Gonzales, Jr. “Johnny G.”, of Newburgh, NY a self-employed, talented painter and a life-long area resident, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. He was 54. Son of Nancy Gonzales and the late John Gonzales, Sr., he was born July 18, 1961 in Newburgh, NY. Johnny G. fought a long and courageous battle against multiple cancers and health issues. He never lost his positive outlook and love of life. He will be remembered as a gentle giant who loved family gatherings, cooking, good food and animals. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed beyond words. In addition to his Mom, Nancy and her special friend, Louis Gagliano, Johnny G is survived by his sisters Donna Cordero and her husband, Danny and Diane Degidio and her husband, Nick; his close and supportive cousins, the Mills Brothers and nieces and nephews, Maia, Gabe, Nicholas, Henrietta and Gus. Johnny G was predeceased by his Dad, John Gonzales, Sr. Memorial Visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday, April 9, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave. Newburgh, NY 12550. A Funeral Service will begin at 3:30 pm In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Johnny G’s memory may be made to the Hudson Valley ASPCA, http://www.hudsonvalleyspca.com 940 Little Britain Road New Windsor, NY 12553.
