Eileen P Prahl Ruggio, of Bloomingburg, NY, formerly of Newburgh, a retired Machine Operator for Osram Sylvania, entered into rest on Saturday, April 9, 2016. She was 66. Daughter of the late Julius and Irene Prahl, she was born April 11, 1949 in Manhattan, NY. Eileen was a kind and loving person to all that knew her. Despite many health issues over the last several years, she never lost her optimism and fighting spirit. Her strength was an inspiration to many. Some of her greatest joys were “playing in the dirt” to prepare her container gardens, watching the colors bloom throughout the season, and hoping for a hummingbird sighting. Although we are deeply saddened that she will no longer be with us, we take comfort in knowing that she is once again with her husband -- the “love of her life.” Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Ruggio of Gardiner, NY and son, Erik Ruggio of Bloomingburg, NY; her mother-in-law Sylvia Ruggio of Lakewood, NJ; and Tigger the Cat, Mom‘s favorite. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard C. Ruggio. (See Class of 1962) Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, April 13 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 14 at the funeral home, with burial following in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
