Roger W. Stanton Sr. - Class of 1964

      Roger W. Stanton Sr. was born on November 10, 1944 in Carbondale, PA to his parents Gerald Joseph and Frona (Pierce) Stanton. He passed away at the young age of 71 in Cape Coral, FL. on April 27, 2016 Roger “Pop” is survived by his children Roger W. (Idalynn) Stanton Jr., Christopher (Jennifer) Stanton, and Renee (Andrew) Herron; grandchildren Peyton, Brittney, Jillian, Kelsey, Cierra, Joshua, Courtney, and Quinn; sister Ruth Brewer; niece Kimberly; nephew Michael; great niece Tina; and many friends who will miss him dearly. Roger served proudly with the US Army Signal and Artillery within the US and abroad including Germany. In his free time he loved to paint portraits and complete crossword puzzles. Roger was a member of Faith Assembly of God, Poughkeepsie, NY prior to retiring to Cape Coral, FL. Roger’s passion in life was his family. He decided to move to FL to be closer to his children and grandchildren. He will never be forgotten as long as the sun rises. Roger will be honorably laid to rest at the Sarasota National Cemetery following cremation per his request.
