James Patrick Mangan, 63 years old, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, after a valiantly fought 12 year battle with cancer. He was born in Newburgh on January 30, 1953 to the late Joseph and Veronica Mangan. Jim was a 1971 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and attended Orange County Community College. While at NFA, he was a member of the undefeated 1969-70 and 1970-71 football Goldbacks playing both defense and offense in every game. He married Linda Anne Dooley on August 17, 1974. She survives him at home. Jim was a salesman and sales manager for Einstein Moomjy in Paramus, New Jersey, for 34 years, retiring in 2010. He was an original member of the Million Dollar Sales Group at EM and was recognized as an expert on Oriental carpets. He volunteered for 10 years at New Windsor Little League, serving 2 years as president of the organization as he firmly believed in the value of organized sports in the development of children. In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by his son, Patrick, and his fiancee, Debra Schaaff; his brother, Joseph T. Mangan and his wife, Deborah, of Bearsville, NY; his sister, Teresa M.
