Harry J. Haight - Class of 1958

    Harry J. Haight of Poughkeepsie, a retired technician for IBM in Fishkill entered into rest Monday, May 9, 2016 at home. He was 76. The son of the late Harry H. and Anna (Ciarimboli) Haight, Harry was born January 27, 1940 in Newburgh. Harry graduated from St. Patrick's School and NFA. He joined the Navy in 1957 and became a 3rd Class Gunner Mate on the U.S. Des Moines and also served on the USS Providence Guided Missile from 1957 to 1961. After retiring from IBM he went on to work for Entergy at Indian Point and retired in 2001. He was an avid outdoors's man and was a member of the Elks Lodge and the NRA. Survivors include his son, Michael Haight and his wife, Robin of Kodiak, AK; daughter, Tammy Kuzmyn of Poughkeepsie; his best friend and companion, Janet Green of the Town of Newburgh; sister, Marilyn Minard of the Town of Newburgh; grandchildren: Samatha Haight, Laura Haight, Monica Klaproth and a step-grandson, Johnny Broderick. Visitation will be private. Graveside service for family and friends will take place 11 a.m., Saturday, May 14th at Calvary Cemetery, corner of Rt. 9W and Rt. 94 in New Windsor, NY. Father John Vondras will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
