Frank “Ank” Ronsini - Class of June 1940

    Frank “Ank” Ronsini, of New Windsor, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. He was 95. The son of the late Alfonso and Maria (D’Addio) Ronsini, he was born April 26, 1921 in Newburgh. He married Hope (DeFazio) Ronsini on July 8, 1967 in Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh where he was a parishioner. Hope survives at home. Frank was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and New York Military Academy. As a student at NFA, Frank was an outstanding athlete in both track and football, and served as Captain of All DUSO. He also received the Lions Club Watch Award in 1940 for his outstanding athletic ability, cooperation, and school loyalty. After graduating NYMA, Frank went on to proudly serve his country in the US Army during WWII from 1942-46. Frank retired from IBM where he was a Clerk at Dutchess County Airport. In addition to his wife Hope, he is survived by his brother, Joe Ronsini; his sister, Helen McKeegan; three grandchildren, Roseanne Ronsini, Francesca Ronsini and Susan Dillon; two great-grandchildren, Katie Ronsini and Christopher Bowman Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Frank Ronsini Jr.; his brothers, Carl, Nicholas, Mario and Richard Ronsini; and his sisters Jessie Ronsini and Rose Angelone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, May 20 in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. Burial with military honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Frank’s memory may be sent to Sacred Heart Church, 301 Ann St., Newburgh, NY 12550.
