John J. McDonald - Class of 1950

    John H. McDonald of Carolina Shores, NC and formerly of New Windsor, NY entered into rest on Thursday, June 16, 2016. He was 84. Son of the late John H. McDonald and Mary (Chappo) McDonald, he was born in Newburgh, NY on February 16, 1932. A graduate of Fordham University, he was a long time pharmacist at Baxter's Pharmacy and retired from managing the pharmacy at Lloyds Shopping Center in Newburgh after 20+ years of service. He worked at Orange Regional Hospital Pharmacy before finally retiring and moving to Carolina Shores in North Carolina. He was an avid golfer and volunteer with the Hudson Delaware Boys Scout Council as a Commissioner. He enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with his beloved pets. He was predeceased by his brother, William McDonald. He is survived by his brother, James McDonald and his wife, Carol and their children; his children: John McDonald, Michael McDonald and his wife, Elizabeth, Patrick McDonald and his wife, Adrienne and their children; and his daughter, Kathleen McDonald After cremation a private service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to a local animal rescue group of one's choice. Arrangements are being handled by McMillian-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach,
