Marie DeBasio Reeves - Class of 1955

    Marie DeBasio Reeves, a lifetime resident of Newburgh, entered into rest on Friday, July 8, 2016. She was 79. Daughter of the late Patrick and Sophie (Bidosky) DeBasio, she was born February 15, 1937 in Newburgh. She was married to the late Edward Reeves, whom she married on July 16, 1955 at the Chapel at Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh. Marie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her adoring family. She was kind and gentle and always there for her family and friends. She loved her family more than anything in the world, and had a great love for animals, especially her beloved Yorkies, Sissy and Yogi. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Colombo and husband John of Plattekill, Susan Dennis and husband Dewey of Milton, and Donna Chatfield and husband Guy of Cornwall-on-Hudson; her sister Patricia Lentz of Newburgh; her brother Jake Bidosky and wife Karen of Mountainville; her Uncle Anthony DeBasio and companion Lillian Terwilliger of Marlboro; grandchildren, Mickey and Eddie Dennis and Eric and Scott Chatfield; nieces and nephews, Karen Schofield and husband David, Kathi Woronko and husband Steve, Kenneth Lentz Jr. and wife Cathy, Mikki Ann Poublon and husband TJ, Kristen Bidosky, Jake Bidosky, and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her beloved son Edward Reeves Jr., step-father Jake Bidosky Sr., and brother-in-law Kenneth Lentz. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Monday, July 11 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, July 12 in Sacred Heart Church, with burial following in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or the SPCA.
