George Birdsall - Class of 1952

      George E. Birdsall of the Town of Newburgh, a retired lineman for Central Hudson entered into rest Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at St. Lukes Hospital in Newburgh. He was 84. The son of the late George E. and Emily (Greenfield) Birdsall Sr., George was born March 23, 1932 in Newburgh. George proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He loved camping and traveling in his motorhome and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (Hulseapple) Birdsall at home, son, Jeffrey Birdsall and his wife, Cheryl of the Town of Newburgh, Deborah Hagar of Newburgh, sister, Carolyn Petrillo of Las Vegas, Nevada, brother-in-law, Leonard Hulseapple and his wife, Deanna of Circleville, grandchildren; Melanie Schaffner and husband, Richard of New Windsor, Jennifer Sutcliffe and husband, Geoffrey, Sara Birdsall both of the Town of Newburgh, great grandchildren; Richard and Andrew. Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, September 26th from 4 to 7 p.m. at White & Venuto Funeral Home, 188 North Plank Rd. (Rte 32) Newburgh. Funeral service will take place 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 27th, at the funeral home. Burial to follow at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen. If desired please make memorial donations in George's memory to VA Health Care Center, 41 41 Castle Point Rd., Castle Point, NY 12511.
