Sandra Andrews Rizzo - Class of 1957

  Sandra Andrews Rizzo, 77 of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 in Manahawkin, NJ. Born in Monticello,NY on August 26, 1939, she was the daughter of Samuel and Julia Victor Andrews. She was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and Krissler Business Institute. On November 26, 1959, Sandra married Salvatore Pasquale Rizzo. Mr. Rizzo predeceased her in 1999. Sandra was employed by IBM until her first child was born. She enjoyed her home on Long Beach Island and having visitors "down the shore", loved watching her grandchildren play soccer, ski race, swim and ice hockey. She enjoyed cooking, on-line shopping and her dogs. Sandra is survived by her 2 children, Traciann Rizzo and her husband Philip Scriffignano of Wayne, NJ and Marc Rizzo and his wife Siv of Poughkeepsie; her grandchildren, Jessica, Allison, Brooke, Alexandra, Antonio, Giovanni, PJ and Scott; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sandra's family would like to thank her caregivers, Janine, Austin and Danielle Pounds for the love, care and additional family they provided to Sandra over the past year, her Meridian Home Health Care team, and her "pals" from the Long Beach Township Police Department and Emergency Medical Team. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral services were private and under the direction of Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie.
