George Jeffrey Lesane departed this life on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was born in Newburgh, NY to Apostle Mary A. Lesane and the late Rev. George W. Lesane. He was a 1979 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and active duty U.S. Army from 1979 to 1988 as a Sargent, and then served in the Army Reserve from 1988 until he was honorably discharged in 1991. He surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. He made a sure declaration of his salvation where he served as a deacon-in-training and a member of House of Prayer of Newburgh, NY. This he did under the apostleship of his mother and under the pastorate of his younger sister, Pastor Vanessa L. Lesane, affiliated with Gabriel's House of Restoration Worship Center of Poughkeepsie, NY under the leadership of Apostle Jacqueline Thomas-Harrison. He was a known as "Coach Jeff" of the Newburgh NY Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading serving in different capacities as equipment manager, assistant coach, head coach and as president, beginning in 1990s until 2010. He married his loving and devoted wife, Michelle Denise Rich Lesane on July 21, 1991. He was an attentive husband and father. He cared deeply for his family and friends. He was very enthusiastic for life and brought smiles to everyone who he encountered. He always had jokes to tell. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Michelle Lesane; mother, Apostle Mary A. Lesane; two brothers, Greg Lesane Sr. (Kerstin) of Hope Mills, NC and Terry Lesane Sr. (fiancee, Cassandra) of Houston, TX; two sisters, Linda Faison of Fayetteville, NC and Pastor Vanessa L. Lesane of Newburgh. He was the father of six six; four sons: Dontay C. Beckwith (Kim), Michael D. Moore (Shaynee) of Newburgh, Rueben Leggett (Tiffany) of Fort Worth, TX, Devon Lesane of Phoenix, AZ and two daughters, Nicole Stuckey of Louisville, KY and Kia D. Lesane of Newburgh, NY. He was the proud grandfather of 14: Tyler, Tiffany, Ravionna, Tamaiya, Dontay Jr., Jaylyn, Justin, Mekhi, Raniyah, Jakera, Mia, Jaylah, Na'Layah and Messiah. In addition to the many family and friends Jeff leaves special sisters-in-law: Laura Lesane, Valerie Smith (Arlen), Sharon Smith (Robin), Sylvia Harrell (Jamel), Jenean Green (Roland), Irey Cole (Howard), Bessie Buda (Adam); longtime friend, Carlo Harris Sr. of Newburgh; his House of Prayer and Gabriel's House church family. Mr. Lesane will lie in repose from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 8 at Gabriel's House of Restoration, 249 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY. Service is at 11 a.m. at the church with Min. Gregory Lesane, as Eulogist. Interment with full military honors will take place at Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY.
