Joseph “Joe” Galindo, Jr. of Montgomery, a life-long area resident and the former owner of Galindo & Mills Jewelers in Newburgh, passed away at his home. Joseph was 89 years old. He was born in Manhattan, on March 3, 1927, the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Philomena (Colamarco) Galindo. On August 21, 1960, Joseph married his cherished bride, Anna Murray Galindo in Newburgh. Joseph was proud to have served our country as a member of the U.S. Army during WW II and the Korean War. He was a Past-Master of Newburgh Lodge of Masons, a member of VFW Post 973, American Legion Post 1420, Shriners as well as the Masonic Lodge in Walden. Joe was a good & loving husband and brother. Always kind and generous to his family and friends. He loved gardening, photography, cooking & traveling. In addition to Anna, Joe is survived by his sister, Margarita Galindo Vanasco of Newburgh and his brother, Manuel Galindo of Pace, FL; nieces and nephews, Deanna & Michael Tracey, Lisa & Adolfo Rivera, Cheri Galindo, Candy & Gary Galindo. Also, his great nieces and nephews, Geo Vanasco, Allison Sutherland, Adolfo Rivera Jr., Nicole Rivera, Daniella Rivera and Logan Galindo. In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Jack Vanasco and his sister-in-law, Beverly Galindo. Visitation and Service will be held from 11 am - 2pm on Monday, November 21 at brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave Newburgh.
