Richard A. Carlucci, 24, passed unexpectedly in the early hours of Monday, November 21, 2016 in New Windsor, NY. Richard was born on Dec. 21, 1991 in Newburgh to Richard W. and Denise (Caputo) Carlucci - where he was a lifelong resident. A 2010 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, he worked in various local body shops, displaying a passion and acumen he hoped would lead to the start of his own business someday. Richard was an avid baseball player and when he wasn't working he could be routinely spotted at Cronomer Hill Park with his friends. Richard could light up a room with his smile, ease tension with his light-hearted nature, and tell you a story that would put Aesop's Fables to shame. It's impossible to quantify just how many people Richard touched in his twenty-four short years, but what can be said with the utmost confidence is that nobody who met him, ever left without experiencing unconditional love, and acceptance. Richard is survived by his parents, Richard and Denise; daughter Amelia Harper Carlucci, loving girlfriend Samantha Blake, three brothers, Ricky (Anthony), Vincent, and Nicholas (Ebony). Maternal grandmother Dorothy Caputo, two nieces, Lilianna Carlucci and Abigail Cortez-Zuco, and nephew Joshua Cortez-Zuco, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Sophie Daniels-Carlucci and maternal grandfather Vincent Raymond Caputo. In lieu of flowers, we ask that contributions be made for Amelia’s future. Checks may be mailed payable to “Amelia Harper Carlucci”: M&T Bank, 5075 Route 9W, Newburgh, NY 12550. The celebration of Richard’s life will take place on Saturday, November 26, 2016, from 2pm-7pm at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550. A Prayer Service will be celebrated at 6:45 pm.
