Allen Deyo - Class of 1965

  Allen “Wolfman” Deyo, of New Windsor, a lifetime area resident, entered into rest on Thursday, November 24, 2016 with his wife and son by his side. He was 69. Son of Marion (Marsh) Deyo and the late Amos Deyo, he was born August 31, 1947 in Newburgh. Allen served our country as a member of the Army 1st Calvary Division in the Vietnam War where he earned a Purple Heart during his service. Al was a true American Patriot-he loved our country and everything it stood for. Allen married Jeanmarie Tigar, who resides at home. He retired from IBEW Local 363. Al’s biggest pleasure was a close tie to a Loving Family OR Loving his Harley Motorcycles-it was a toss -up but family always came first. His favorite saying was: “Getting old is inevitable, growing up is optional” and to his last day, he never grew up! A special thank you to Castle Point VA for all the wonderful doctors and staff for the past 50 years of care they gave to Al. In addition to his Mother, Marion and his beloved wife, Jeanmarie, Al is survived by his loving children: David Deyo of New Windsor, John Popovics and his partner, Lindsay, of New Windsor, Jessica Popovics of FL, Brent Tigar and his wife, Jennifer of NC, Jamie Tigar Brooks and her husband Anthony of New Windsor and Kristi Tigar of New Windsor; grandchildren, Lucas Deyo, Kyle Lindsel, Giovanni Popovics, Adian & Savannah Davis, Lauren Brook, Jacob Tigar ”Jacckie Man”, Panias “PP” Paolini and Mikaylin Tigar; a sister, Dawn Christie; nephew, William Christie and his wife, Jill of New Windsor, Nieces, Mary and her husband, Dale of Florida, Sandra Deyo of Newburgh, and Christine Sebesta and family of Texas; great-niece, Ella Christie of New Windsor; and life-long friends, Carmen Monaco, Frank Dimitri, Ralph Drangonetti and Ted Doering. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Monday, November 28 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, with a Service at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. On Tuesday, November 29, burial with Military Honors will be held in Lloyd Cemetery, Highland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Al’s memory may be made to the Bronx Vascular Clinic at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, 130 West Kingsbridge Road, Bronx, NY 10468.
