Bernard McQuade - Class of 1952

      Bernard E. McQuade, 82, of Stony Point, passed away peacefully at home on November 23, 2016. He was born August 1934 in Newburgh, NY to Emanuel & Ellenor (Matthews) McQuade. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachler of Science in Industrial Management. Bernie married the love of his life Myrna Marquardt on August 9, 1958. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Bernie worked as a math teacher for many years in the Newburgh City School District. He was a member of Hudson River Lodge 309 Free & Accepted Masons for the last 59 years, North Rockland Social Club, which he helped to build, Leo Laders Post 130 American Legion, and the Stony Point Jaycees. Bernie was an avid golfer and longtime member of Cronin's Golf Course. He enjoyed photography and wood working. His most enjoyable pastime was creating a private family camp in the Adirondacks. Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Myrna, of Stony Point, his beloved children, Bruce McQuade (Catherine) of Warwick, NY, and Scott McQuade (Bonnie) of West Milford, NJ along with his eight cherished grandchildren as well as, a caring sister, Mitzi Manning (Donald) of Endicott, NY, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, Dec. 3rd at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY from 2- 4 and 7- 9 PM. Masonic services will be held at 8 PM. Cremation will follow with burial of Bernard's cremains on Weds. Dec 7th at 2 pm in the F. Loescher Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
