Nancy Ann Benjamin Churko, devoted wife, mother and sister, died following a courageous battle with cancer on December 22, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center. She was 41. The daughter of the late Robert and Maria Farina Benjamin, she was born on June 18, 1975 in Newburgh, NY. Nancy met Brian Churko, her lifetime friend and love. They married on August 14, 1994 in New Windsor, NY. She was a longtime Secretary for the Planning Board for Town of Minisink. Nancy was also a member of Holy Cross Church in South Centerville. She was a loving mother whose life was centered around raising her boys. She was a great gardener and a woman of strong faith who liked to be with her family and friends. In addition to her husband Brian, she is survived by her three sons, Brian Andrew, Tyler and Alexander, all at home; one sister, Michelle Seger and two brothers, Robert and Daniel Benjamin, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her sister, Laura Ann. Nancy's family would like to thank Dr. Perry and the wonderful staff at Crystal Run Healthcare as well as the caring nurses at Orange regional Medical Center. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church in South Centerville, Fr. Michael Cedro will officiate. Burial will follow at in the family plot at the convenience of the family in Sardinia Rural Cemetery in Sardinia, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
