Anita M. Corrado Corti, of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest on Sunday, January 1, 2017. She was 93. Daughter of the late Dominic and Maria (Formichelli) Corrado, she was born July 22, 1923 in Newburgh. She married the late Albert Corti on September 20, 1953 in Newburgh. Albert predeceased her on December 17, 2002. Anita was a loving mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and much more to so many. She will be remembered for her gentleness, kindness, sincerity and strength in the face of adversity. Her strong faith in our Lord never wavered. Survivors include her children, Robert Corti of Westford, VT, Carol Corti Traver and husband Stephen of Pleasant Valley, NY, and William Corti and wife Lynn of New Windsor; her siblings, Charles Corrado and Louise Corrado McKibben, both of Newburgh; her grandchildren, Michael and Eric Corti, and Aaron, Kyle and Zachary Traver; and her great-granddaughter, Olivia Corti. Anita is also survived by many nieces and nephews, all loved, but her fondness and appreciation for niece Joan Scott, whom she loved dearly, was special. In addition to her parents and her husband Albert, she was predeceased by her brother, Michael Corrado and her sister, Antoinette DeBenedictus. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, January 6 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 7 at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh, where Anita was a devoted parishioner. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to Sacred Heart Church, 301 Ann St., Newburgh, NY 12550.
