Derrick F. Butler "Moose" was born in Newburgh, New York on
May 3, 1966. Derrick passed away suddenly on Wednesday,
January 11, 2017. He attended Newburgh Free Academy, and
worked at Newburgh Auto Auction for five years. Derrick was
a fun loving guy with a Big Heart and free spirit. He had a
way of making you burst into laughter and he could make the
most serious of people lighten up and feel comfortable. His
sense of humor was unmatched. He is survived by his sister,
Rhonda L. Butler of Copperas Cove, TX and brother, Patrick
M. Butler of Albany, NY; aunts, Amatullah Zaahir of
Brooklyn, NY and Christina Roberson of Queens, NY; along
with numerous cousins and many, many friends. Derrick is
predeceased by his mother, Peggy R. Butler. He will be
missed by all that knew and loved him. Acknowledgements: We
would like to express our sincere thanks for the love and
support and other kind expressions during our time of
bereavement. Mr. Butler will repose 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday,
January 17, 2017 at Church of God By Faith, 29 Bridge
Street, Newburgh, NY. Funeral service at 6 p.m. at the
church. Interment at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at
Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor, NY. Professional service
entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home, 259 Walsh Ave., New
Windsor, NY 12553. "Committed To Being The Very Best." Call
