Robert Mackey - Class of 1958

    Robert Mackey, 76, co-owner of Two Bobs, mason for NESCD, and park ranger at Chadwick Lake Park in the Town of Newburgh entered into rest on January 19, 2017 surrounded by his large loving family. A lifelong resident of Newburgh, NY the son of the late Harold and Margaret Mackey he was born January 20, 1940. Robert leaves behind his beloved wife of 34 years, Isabella Mackey and his children: Lori Rudy and her husband David Rudy, Margaret Bayer, and Donna Guillet and her husband Brian, Joseph Gizzarelli and his wife Nadeen, Louis Gizzarelli and his wife Lori Beth, Michael Gizzarelli and his wife Kimberly, and Brian Swee and his wife Lisa; his grandchildren Joshua Gizzarelli, Nicole Gizzarelli Wagner and her husband Mathew Wagner, Lia Gizzarelli, David Gizzarelli, Kyle Swee, LJ Gizzarelli, Jordanne Gizzarelli, Lauren and Ryan Bayer, Julia Mackey Rudy, Troy Guillet, Elena and Adam Rudy, Madison and Mara Guillet, and Lucas and Nico Rudy; his remaining siblings Doris DeCrosta, Ruth Ann Lake and her husband Bruce; inlaws Mary and Robert Fisher, Gloria Cracchiolo, Mary and Reggie Steffanina, Vito and Stephanie Cracchiolo, Ann and Frank Giametti and Dorothy and Robert Lanspery, and Loretta Mackey, mother of his daughters; along with many nieces and nephews and his extended family The Super Dudes of Silver Hollow. He was predeceased by his siblings Alice Reiss, Frank Mackey, William Mackey, and Joyce McDoungh; mother in law Mary Cracchiolo, brothers-in-law Salvator Cracchiolo Sr. and James DeCrosta, nephew Salvator Cracchiolo Jr. and lifelong friend Louis Gizzarelli Sr. An avid outdoorsman, he was a life member of The Black Rock Fish and Game Club. He was a vintage car enthusiast and had a diverse hat collection. He loved sharing his passion for Silver Hollow with his grandchildren, especially during hunting season. Visitation will be held from 2-6pm on Sunday, January 22 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday, January 23 at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
