Belle Wolkoff Rosenbaum beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully at her home in Palm Beach, Fl., January 21, 2017, surrounded by her family. Born at home in Newburgh, NY on September 13, 1924, to Max and Mollie Wolkoff, Belle was a first generation American and native Yiddish speaker. She was a lifelong learner, a lover of the arts, travel, people and Judaism. At 16, Belle moved to NYC, a city she adored, to attend NYU. She later worked at the American Jewish Committee where she met her future husband, Dr. Max Rosenbaum. While raising four children, she earned a masters degrees in teaching, a PhD in reading education and, at age 65, a masters in social work. She was predeceased by Max, her husband of 64 years, and survived by her children Rebecca, Joshua, Adam and Judith, and her grandson, Gabriel. Belle's kind, gentle and accepting nature touched all who met her. She was loved by many. Funeral services will be held January 24 at 11:30am at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 W. 76th St., NYC.
