June McKnight, of Boynton Beach, FL and formerly of Newburgh, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. She was 81. Born in Newburgh on June 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Clementina (Calcagno) Ruotolo. June was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and married Robert McKnight Sr., who predeceased her in 2015. She retired from IBM in Fishkill. Mom was a talented artist, and many of us have a painting or figurine in our homes to cherish. She loved having her family all around, and we will not forget the sight and smell of a dish of her meatballs when visiting her. Taking after her father, she won the 1998 Bocce Tournament at a competition in Boynton Beach Florida, where she lived after her retirement. Left to cherish her memory, June is survived by her loving sons, Robert Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of New Windsor, Michael and his wife Brenda of Port St. Lucie Florida, Daniel and his wife Michelle of Newburgh; her grandchildren, Caitlin Hogan and husband Brendan, Amanda, Daniel, and Molly McKnight; great- grandchildren Aislinn and Nora Hogan; her sisters, Jennie Catania, Frances Zambito, and Rachel Fitzgibbons, all of Newburgh; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law John and Edie McKnight of CT and Richard and Marie McKnight of New Windsor; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Daria Conklin; her son Steven McKnight; sisters, Anna MeKeel and Carmella Moroney; and her brother Frank Ruotolo. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Monday, January 30 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Tuesday, January 31 at Sacred Heart Church, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
