Mary Casalinuovo Gardner, a lifelong resident of Newburgh, entered into rest on Thursday, January 26, 2017 with her family by her side. She was 84 years young. Born in Newburgh on June 30, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Susie (Guadagno) Casalinuovo. Mary was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and married David G. Gardner Sr., who predeceased her in 2012. Mary was also predeceased by her brother, Anthony "Tiny" Casalinuovo. Mary always put everyone before herself. She loved her family very much. Mary loved shopping and spending time with her children and grandchild. Left to cherish her memory, Mary is survived by her loving children, Pat Bocchinfuso and her husband, Bob of Port St. Lucie, FL; David Gardner Jr. of Milwaukee, WI and Susan Barry and her husband, John of Newburgh, NY. Mary also leaves behind her granddaughter, Lauren Barry. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 30 at Engel Funeral Home, 5319 Route 9W, Newburgh. A service for family and friends will be offered at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31 at the funeral home. Reverend William Damroth will officiate. Entombment will immediately follow in the Cedar Hill Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Bishop Dunn Memorial School, 50 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY 12550; ATTN: Mrs. Lego or Mrs. Benfer.
