Robert "Bob" Joseph Stipak Sr. - Class of 1970

    Robert "Bob" Joseph Stipak Sr., of Wallkill, entered into rest on February 12, 2017. He was 64. The son of Albert Stipak and the late Joan (Weinsheimer) Stipak, he was born May 10, 1952 in Bronx, NY. He married Barbara (Stilwell) Marshall Stipak on October 7, 2001, Barbara survives at home. Bob was a wonderful family man, friend to so many, and a faithful servant of God. He was the head of our beautiful blended family, our sweet smiling Grandpoppy. Everyone who knew him remembers his big warm friendly smile. Now he will be smiling at us from Heaven, watching over us until we meet again. Bob attended St. Mary's School through 8th grade, graduated from NFA in 1970, and attended OCCC after high school. He became a Journeyman Electrician after completing the IBEW Apprenticeship Program. He was a former parishioner of St Mary's Church in Newburgh. In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by his children, Tricia A. Stipak of New Windsor, NY, Robert J. Stipak Jr. and wife Aimee of Poughquag, NY, Frederick Stipak and wife Kristina of Rock Tavern, NY, Christopher (Drew) Stipak of Town of Newburgh, NY Jamison P. Marshall of Menands, NY, Joseph Marshall and wife Kelly of Largo, FL, and Suzanne Marshall Capobianco and husband Bobby of Charlotte, NC; siblings, Karen Bello of Town of Newburgh, Nancy Carey of Campbell Hall, Linda Hoeffner and husband Phillip of Montgomery, and Susan Candela and husband Joseph of Town of Newburgh; grandchildren: Madelynne, Brooke, and Logan Stipak; Robyn, Johnathan and Joshua Stipak; Thomas Stipak; Troy Marshall; and Ozzy Capobianco. He will miss the arrival of two more grandchildren expected very soon. Also survived by 17 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-9 pm on Wednesday, February 15 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, February 16, at Sacred Heart, Newburgh, with Rev. William Scafidi officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Montgomery.
