I remember meeting Hank for the first time in Gardnertown School when we were both in the 4th grade. He couldn't speak a word of English but was still able to communicate with all of on the playground. It didn't take him long learn to learn our language and completely lose his German accent somewhere along the way. He was always a fair & a good sport in whatever games we played while going through school. After NFA we both entered the Navy. I,as an enlisted man and Hank going to Annapolis. As big as the Navy is Hank & I crossed paths more than once in Bermuda during his midshipmen years. He always had a smile and was just as glad to see me as I was him. Great memories of our Navy years for sure. He was a sailor's sailor. May you always find Fair Winds & Following Seas my friend. Replies to this post No replies yet |
