Burton Marenes Foster - Class of 1919

Marenes Foster, 52, died on Saturday Aug.14,1954 at his home in Inglewood,
Calif. Funeral services will be held in Inglewood. Interment also will be in
Inglewood. Mr. Foster moved from Newburgh NY to California during 1953. He had
been employed as a draftsman with the Northrup Aircraft Company after having
been similarly employed here by the Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp and the
Standard Winding Company. Mr. Foster suffered a heart at-tack after a brief
illness. He was born in Newburgh on Dec. 8, 1901, a son of Mrs. Elsie Merritt
Foster and the late Edward Foster. He was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy
and was a member of the Moulton Memorial Baptist Church. Shortly after World War
I, he served with the U. S. Navy. With his wife, the former Ethel Calburn, and
moved to California in March 1953. Besides his mother and wife he is survived by
a sister, Mrs. Lawrence Everitt. of Newburgh; a daughter, Mrs. Bryan Wilkinson
of Burbank, Calif.; a son, Conrad B. Foster of RD 1, Montgomery NY; and two
grandchildren.
