Marguerite "Deet" Wilson Harris, formerly of Newburgh, NY, passed away on November 3, 2016. She was born on August 10, 1936 in Beacon, NY to late Ellsworth Wilson and the late Marguerite McCarroll Wilson. She was the beloved mother of Arthur Harris, Richard Harris (deceased), Timothy Harris, Pamela Harris and Daniel Harris; grandmother of Melanie Harris, Rachel Ann Farr and Kristy Harris; great-grandmother of Lucas Farr, Zoey Farr, Brantley Cagle and Raelynn Biggs. She is survived by siblings: Jane Wilson Sager, Mary Wilson Stern and Richard Wilson. She was predeceased by siblings: Joan Wilson Rafferty, Jeanne Wilson Clark, Bill Wilson and Robert Wilson. Marguerite was accomplished at her career dedicated to civil service and committed to helping men, women and young people through the criminal justice system. She was a fun loving, hard working and determined woman who was passionate about social work as an employee for NYS DCFS, NYS Department of Labor, Orange County Probation Department and the CETA Youth program. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 24th at the Church of St. Patrick and St. Mary in Newburgh, NY with a reception to follow at Marlboro Yacht Club in Marlboro NY.
