Patricia Pat Stinson Newcomb, a longtime resident of Newburgh, entered into rest on Monday, April 10, 2017. She was 78. The daughter of the late Alvin and Leora (Puff) Stinson and step-daughter to Gladys Stinson and the late Paul Bennett, she was born March 10, 1939 in Poughkeepsie. She was married to the late Donald Newcomb, whom she married in 1968. Mom lived her life for her family. Her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. We were all in awe of the strength she displayed during her long battle with cancer. Though we miss her tremendously, we are comforted to know that she is with our Dad, the love of her life. Pat was a graduate of NFA, was a longtime volunteer of the old Pack 5/Troop 10 Boy Scouts of Newburgh, and enjoyed bowling. Survivors include her sons, Michael Newcomb and his wife Jeanne of Middletown, Joseph Newcomb of Newburgh, and Keith and his wife Michele of Newburgh; brothers Ralph Stinson of Virginia and Bill Stinson of Texas; beloved grandchildren, Melissa and Amanda Newcomb of Idaho, Jessica Dauer and her husband Zachary of Newburgh, and Kevin Newcomb of Newburgh; step-mother Gladys Stinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, her step-father, and her husband Don, she was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Showler Hall. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, April 12 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service will be held at 11 am on Thursday April 13 at the funeral home, with burial following in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org
