William M. Williams, of Newburgh, NY affectionately known as "Sonny Mack", passed away on April 12, 2017 at Castle Point VA Medical Center, Castle Point, NY. He was 92. William was born on September 18, 1924 in Newburgh, NY to William and Marie Williams.He attended Newburgh School System and upon graduation, he joined the United States Army. He was a Veteran of World War II where he earned several medals and was honorably discharged. He worked at West Point for over 25 years as a clerk. Mr. Mack was affectionately loved and respected by many. During his free time he enjoyed spending time with old friends "shooting the Breeze" as he would say. William is survived by his wife, Gladys; two sons, David and Rodger Williams; two granddaughters, Rhonda Free (Omar) and Rikki Pearson (Herman); three grandsons: Otein, Ryan and Keyshawn; seven great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and other relatives to cherish his memories; special friends, Pop Pets and Pals, Ruston Lewis and family; Ms. Mary Cross. William is predeceased by his parents; daughter, Marie "Sissy" Williams; son, William "Butch" Williams Jr. and great great-granddaughter, Omani Free. Mr. Williams will lie in repose from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 24th at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 76 First Street, Newburgh, NY. Service is at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev.
