Carl Alfano of Venice, of FL with family by his side, entered into rest on April 29, 2017. He was born in Cornwall, NY to the late Anthony Alfano and Agnes Ring. Carl served in the US Army at Ft. Benjamin Harrison, IN. He then went to work for IBM in Poughkeepsie/Fishkill for over twenty five years as a computer engineer until 1992. In retirement, he settled in Georgia with a residence in Brigantine Beach, NJ where the family gathered every summer for 25 years. He never stopped enjoying the ocean and various water sports, having raised his sons to enjoy the same. Carl could be found skiing on a Vermont mountainside or sailing in the Atlantic. If not in the water, Carl and his wife Marcia were in the air travelling to destinations around the world during the past 35 years. A great enthusiasm for the New York Yankees and Knicks also kept him busy. He was a beloved family man with a great sense of humor. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife Marcia Alfano of Venice, FL and sons Carl Alfano and wife Wendy of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, Paul Alfano, wife Deanne, and children Nicholas and Danica of Montgomery, NY, Richard Alfano, wife Marlene, and children Alyssa, Nicole, and Julianne of New Windsor, NY, and Michael Alfano of Atlanta, GA. He was predeceased by brothers Anthony "Butch" Alfano and George "Whit" Alfano, and former wife Shirley Alfano. The family would like to thank Tidewell Hospice of Venice, FL for their support and many resources. Visitation will be held Thursday May 4, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY.
