Mildred "Peggy" Israel Goldberg - Class of 1940

Mildred (Peggy) Israel Goldberg - Peggy passed away peacefully at age 94 on
May 29, 2017. She was born on November 21, 1922 in Newburgh, New York. She is
predeceased by her parents Bessie and Samuel Israel, her loving husband Bernard
Goldberg, sister Frances Susswein and brother Sidney Israel. She is survived by
her children Barbara (Ken) Baron, Gary Goldberg, Donald (Kathy) Goldberg,
grandchildren Brian (Karina) Muszynski, Lauren Muszynski, Nikki Goldberg, Ben
Goldberg , great grandson Ian Muszynski and loving extended family. She was a
1944 graduate of Albany College of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy and Medical
Technology. At that time she was one of the pioneering women in Pharmacy. In
1953, Peggy and Bernie celebrated the opening of Israel’s Pharmacy on South
Street which served Newburgh area residents for over 20 years. Peggy was active
in her synagogue Congregation Agudas Israel, Hadassah, and enjoyed playing
bridge with her friends at Newburgh recreation center. She loved to read, play
canasta, do crossword puzzles, and traveled the world with her friends. Funeral
services will be held at Congregation Agudas Israel, Newburgh, NY on Friday June
2, 2017 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hadassah at
www.Haddassah.org
