Beverly Borka Barney, 78 of Newburgh, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. The daughter of the late John and Ann (Revell) Borka, she was born August 10, 1938 in Newburgh. She was married to the late Donald Barney, who predeceased her in 2014. Beverly was happiest when helping others. She was a devoted and supportive mother, grandmother, aunt, and special sister. Those who knew her, special friends and neighbors, treated her as family. Her absence will leave a hole in many lives she touched, but will be filled with great memories. Survivors include her daughters, Kristen Barney of Newburgh and Debbie Palchus and husband Tom of North Carolina; her sister, Karen Duncan; grandchildren, Michael, Brandon, Jami, Dayna and Blake Palchus; and nephew Kevin Richmond. Visitation will be held from 9-10 am on Friday, June 9 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh, where Beverly was a parishioner. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Francis Cemetery, New Windsor.
