Dolores "Dee" Walsh Gerbes, 92 of New Windsor, passed away on June 9, 2017 at
home with her family by her side. The daughter of the late William and Mary
(Chase) Walsh, she was born October 4, 1924 in Newburgh. She was married to the
late Anthony Gerbes, who predeceased her in 2001. Dolores was a loving mother
and grandmother who will be forever remembered by her loved ones for her
bottomless candy dish and crocheted slippers and afghans. She is survived by her
sons, Jack Gerbes and his wife Jane of Forest Hill, MD and Rich Gerbes and his
wife Wendy of New Windsor; siblings, Pat Walsh, Muriel Herring, William Walsh
and Shirley Driscoll; grandchildren, Patrick Gerbes, Megan and Josh Blair, John
Gerbes, Katie Gerbes and Luke Gerbes; and many nieces and nephews. In addition
to her husband she was predeceased by siblings. Visitation will be held from 4-7
pm on Sunday, June 11 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Monday, June 12 in St. Francis of
Assisi Church, Newburgh, with burial following in Mt. St. Francis Cemetery, New
Windsor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Dee’s memory may be sent to
St. Francis Church Resoration Fund, 145 Benkard Ave., Newburgh, NY 12550. Dolores Walsh Gerbes, NFA 1943 passed away on June 9th, 2017 More info to follow.
