Charles "Zeke" McCurry, of Ruskin, FL, formerly of Newburgh, NY passed away on July 2, 2017. Zeke leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Elaine. Two sons, Douglas of Ruskin, FL, Darren and his wife, Michele of Newburgh, NY. He was a beloved Grandfather to Nichole and her husband, Michael, Christopher, Alexis, Kyle and Haley and a great grandfather to Ian. Two sisters, Myrna and Yvonne and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn, who was there to welcome him. Born and raised in Newburgh, NY he graduated from NFA class of 57 where he was a standout on the football team, making headlines as "Zeke the Zipper". He became a City of Newburgh Firefighter retiring in 1977 and moved to Florida in 1981. Zeke was known for his sense of humor always bringing joy and laughter to all who had the privilege to know him. A memorial service will be held on July 7th, 2017 at the Riverside Golf Club in Ruskin, Florida. Arrangements were entrusted to Zipperer's Funeral Home.
