Dolores "Dee" Mangi D'Elicio entered into rest Friday July 7th, 2017, surrounded by her loving family in Newburgh, NY. Dolores was born July 31, 1931 in Newburgh, NY and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Scott) Mangi. Dee attended Newburgh Free Academy graduating in 1950. While attending Newburgh Free Academy she met and later married her high school sweetheart Daniel D'Elicio, who she shared 64 happy years of marriage. Dolores could often be found at home spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, watching tennis, crocheting, and cooking. She loved to attend Broadway shows, The U.S. Open, and her yearly trips to Wildwood, N.J. with her family. Dee was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. Dolores is survived by her five daughters, Dawn D'Elicio of New Windsor, Theresa D'Elicio and her fiance' John Maher of New Windsor, Bernadette Lockwood and her husband William of Pine Bush, Patricia Kennedy of Walden and Daniela Acosta and her husband, Oscar of Washington, NJ; six grandchildren, Daniel D'Elicio, Andrew, Devon and Gabrielle Acosta, Caitlin and Ryan Kennedy; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa D'Elicio and Mason Galando; a sister-in-law, Philomena Perry and her husband, John of Florida; a brother-in-law, Rocco and his wife Mary Jane D'Elicio of Newburgh; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Mangi of Poughkeepsie and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Dolores was predeceased by her parents, brother Michael Mangi, sister-in-law Antoinette Calvino and her husband Samuel, nephews Mark Mangi, and Anthony and Joseph Calvino. Nana will be greatly missed by her family who takes comfort in knowing she is at peace and that the Pretty Lady is once again with her Handsome Dude. The D'Elicio family would like to thank everyone who took the time to send get well cards and prayers to our mom. We would also like to thank Naomi for all her loving care she provided to Dolores on her journey home. And a very personal thank you to Dr. Joseph and Dr. Ceiplinski and Father Kevin Malick for all their support during this difficult time. To Dr. A Hadid, you have a special place in all of our hearts for the professionalism, compassion and friendship you have shown our parents over the years. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, July 11 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 12 at the funeral home, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Lung Cancer Association.
