Kenneth Dwayne Rayford, better known as “DA SMALLS” to the tri state area and
“Dwayne” to family, 48, passed peacefully at his residence on Monday, July 24,
2017 surrounded by family. He was born on September 16, 1968 and raised in
Newburgh, NY. He attended Newburgh Free Academy. Kenneth Rayford is survived by
his mother, Gladys Rayford of Petersburg, VA; wife, Tonia Jones; children,
Takeya Rayford of Newburgh, NY, LaKisha Rayford of Newburgh, NY, KaKeya Rayford
of Poughkeepsie, NY and Kendra Brown of Beacon, NY; six grandchildren; siblings,
Lauretha (Rayford) Williams (Teri “LD”) of Culpeper, VA, Andre Rayford (Amelia)
of Walden, NY, Tanya (Jordan) Hedgspeth (Keith) of Atlanta, GA, Harold Rayford
(Hillary) of Newburgh, Ta-Tanisha (Jordan) White (Torriente) of Athens, AL,
Kisha (Jordan) Powell (Hugh) of Petersburg, VA, and a host of aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his
grandparents, Leb and Louise Rayford; his father, Woodruff Jordan. Special
Thanks go to Kenny Cummings and Darrian Cook of Newburgh, NY for remaining
friends with Dwayne and calling to check on him. Mr. Rayford will lie in repose
from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, Saturday, July 29 at First United Methodist Church, 241
Liberty Street, Newburgh, NY 12550. Funeral service begins at 12 Noon at the
church. Interment is at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Middle Hope, NY. Professional
Service entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home, 259 Walsh Ave., New Windsor, NY
